Penoscrotal Web Repair

WHAT IS PENOSCROTAL WEBpenoscrotal web

The penoscrotal web is a fold of skin at the back of the penis to the sac that pulls the scrotum up. The scrotal webbing may give the impression of a short penis. It can happen from childhood as congenital abnormalities or a result of excessive removal of the foreskin during the circumcision. Many men may wish to rectify the penoscrotal web because of short penis appearance, painful sexual acts, discomfort during exercise or difficulty putting the condom on the shaft of the penis. This also results in a disappearance of the junction of the penis and scrotum. This may occur in difficulty in sexual intercourse or suffer from psychological problems.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF PENOSCROTAL WEBBING

  • Born with congenital penoscrotal web
  • Mild, moderate and severe degree penoscrotal web
  • After over-resection of foreskin after circumcision

HOW TO REPAIR OF PENOSCROTAL WEB

  1. Mild scrotal webbing can incise transversely and close the wound vertically, but dog-ear edges must be excised to prevent an unattractive appearance.
  2. Mild webbing may be operated with a single or double Z-plasty.
  3. Moderate webbing can excision the triangle skin at the penoscrotal area with a scrotal tug or scrotal lift like V-Y plasty. Scrotal lift scrotoplasty or scrotum reduction surgery may be required simultaneously.
  4. Excess skin can be excised along the midline for more severe webbing, with a Z-plasty at the penoscrotal junction to prevent recurrent scar shrinking.

WHAT PATIENTS SAY?

    • Positive experiences with Dr. Khan, praising the surgery results and ideal aftercare.
    • Satisfied patient at the Thornhill Circumcision Centre.
    • A happy patient at the London Clinic was pleased with the result on recovery days.

"Fantastic consultation. Dr. Khan was very helpful and took the time needed to find the best treatment option for my case

"I was looking for the best urologist in London, and I found them with Dr Khan. I attended the clinic, where I was made to feel welcome by the reception staff. I was then collected by a doctor who escorted me through to be seen by Dr Khan. He engaged with me with dignity, professionalism and respect throughout. He then took me through to the theatre, where I felt minimal pain and was reassured by Dr Khan and the nurse. Within a flash, my adult circumcision was complete and bandaged up - then sent on my way with the relevant medication.

Regarding aftercare, Dr Khan had a 24/7 reachable mobile number and was always happy to help. I got infected, and he promptly advised a course of treatment, which made it heal appropriately within a day or two. Now, 2 months after my surgery, I have the cosmetic look I was hoping for and wholly healed.

I couldn’t recommend the team enough. Thank you."
